Powerhouse Museum – Narnia Experience
The Brief
One of Sydney’s most iconic tourist locations, the Sydney Powerhouse Museum asked The Bureau of Fun to create an experience with WOW factor for the opening preview of The Narnia Exhibition over three days.
Guests were to have an immersive Narnia experience that would drive them to spread the word about the exhibition.
And, with whispers running through The Bureau of Fun office that we may actually meet a magical lion called Aslan, we accepted the mission in a heartbeat.
Key mission goals included:
- Create an exciting and shareable experience that would drive foot traffic to The Narnia Exhibition
- Execute an experience-based promotion of the exhibition for guests & media
- Drive traditional & social media exposure of the exhibition
- Service 300+ guests at a time
Our Plan of Attack
The Bureau of Fun created an interactive, performance-based experience that brought the magical world of Narnia to life. The costume department jumped into action, searched through their wardrobes and almost made wartime fashions cool again – knee high socks & brief case combo anyone?
The Bureau Agents created an immersive experience in which they inhabited Narnia’s characters to engage guests in a giant game of hide and seek, leading them through the wardrobe to the magical land of Narnia whilst telling tales of Mr Tumnus, The White Witch and the mysterious Aslan.
It was so exciting that even Mr Tumnus made an appearance.
Other plans of attack:
- Interactive performances
- Snowflake experience
- Fake tattoos
- Photo opportunities with characters
