The Brief

The Bureau of Fun was selected by the legendary Powerhouse Museum to create a fun and entertaining performance that would engage muggles (aka ‘visitors’) at its incredibly popular Harry Potter Exhibition.

The mission was not only to entertain, but to create an interactive performance that would have the muggles spreading the word about the exhibition.

Key mission goals included:

  • Build excitement and hype as Harry Potter fans patiently waited to enter the experience
  • Create a memorable experience that would encourage Australians to spread the word
  • Add another layer of fun to the globally-popular Harry Potter experience

Our Plan of Attack

At The Bureau of Fun, our performances are so good that we’re also mistaken for performing wizardry.

Once briefed, The Bureau of Fun Agents embodied all things Hogwarts to entertain crowds in the thousands.

Dressed as characters from the movie, The Agents gathered muggles in the museum entrance hallway, performed magic and cast spells of fun.

Other plans of attack:

  • Sorting quizes
  • Hogwarts house tattoos

Mission Complete

A magical mission complete, The Bureau of Fun left families mesmerised. Thousands of muggles interacted with the Agents and everyone entered The Harry Potter Experience buzzing.

This event was so successful that the museum couldn’t wait to invite The Bureau of Fun back to entertain at future experiences.

Mission highlights:

  • 3 days of wizardry
  • 1000’s of spells of fun cast
  • Too many Harry Potter spectacles to keep track
  • 0 Dark Lords in sight – phew!
