An Eye-opening 400th Store Launch For Specsavers
Specsavers was opening its 400th ANZ store, located at Sydney’s, Chifley Square. The experts in eye health wanted passersby to feel the energy from its team, take a closer look at the new Autumn Specsavers collection, and open their eyes to what the newest location had to offer. The Bureau of Fun jumped straight into action to deliver a parade of green and white that was certainly a sight worth seeing!
The Brief
Create noise and energy at the opening of Specsavers’ 400th ANZ store – Chifley Square, Sydney while celebrating the brand and encouraging passersby to take a look at the new Autumn collection in store.
Key mission goals included:
- Drum up excitement that would encourage consumers on the street to visit the store
- Let passersby on their lunch hour know that the store is now officially open for business
- Create a surprise and delight moment for passersby by delivering a wow moment with celebrity stylist and Specsavers Ambassador, Alex Perry.
Our Plan of Attack
We created a 10 piece fashionista style parade to march the streets of Sydney’s CBD and engage with the public. Our first step was to theme Specsavers branding with catwalk style. We sourced magazine-ready outfits in traditional Specsavers green and white for The Bureau of Fun’s most gorgeous agents to wear. We then engaged our favourite four piece brass funk band to play modern classics such as Single Ladies and Uptown Funk while our models drummed up a crowd. We also styled inside the store and managed the official ribbon cutting event.
Mission Complete
Despite the rain lashing the streets on the day, the event was a roaring success. Having fashionable umbrellas at the ready, our team leveraged the wet weather for impromptu Dancing in the Rain – and passersby loved it! As a result, the store was packed for its official ribbon cutting and customers stayed to engage in a styling session with Alex Perry. Our funk band stepped waaayy out of a traditional music set up to engage with the public who couldn’t get enough of the upbeat hits.
